PSA-COM supports diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration on most control units. Depending on ECU type two regenerations methods are usually available as described below.
Static DPF regeneration
Regeneration is performed while car is stationary. The regeneration process is fully automated and controlled by the ECU, PSA-COM does not have any control over the procedure. Please consult vehicle service documentation for further information about static DPF regeneration and it's prerequisites. Please check and fix diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) before running DPF regeneration.
If procedure fails (mainly after some time), the problem is then usually a faulty component or sensor, that are used in the complete particulate filter regeneration system.
Dynamic DPF regeneration
Regeneration happens while vehicle is driven.
