Injector coding

General information

Common rail diesel fuel injectors require calibration, which describe the characteristics of each individual injector. Due to fine tolerances, it is impossible to produce injectors with the same characteristics. Calibration of the injectors serves to compensate these small differences in injection characteristics. Injector calibration code is used to specify injection parameters such as EM/EP, LL/ID, VL/FL, VE/PI, ISA and QS. These injector-specific parameters are encoded within the injector calibration code.

Bosch common-rail diesel injectors

Bosch injectors codes (IMA codes) use hexadecimal encoding (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F) or letters 1, 2, 3 , 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K, L, M, N, O, P, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z (J, Q, 0 and 9 are excluded).

All injector codes are checksum-protected against mistyping and our diagnostic applications validate injectors codes before coding it in the control unit.

Injector classification class
Each injector has a given classification class (C1, C2, C3).

6 characters of Bosch alphabet / 8 hexadecimal string
The length of the code is 6 characters (eg G1AANS) or 8 hexadecimal digits (4 bytes) (eg B083CF01). It is an electromagnetic (solenoid) injector (EURO3).

7 characters of Bosch alphabet / 10 hexadecimal string
The length of the code is 7 characters (eg 8ZSH5WH) or 10hex digits (5 bytes) (eg 002FC08038). This is a piezoelectric injector (EURO4).

9 hexadecimal string
The length of the code is 9 hexadecimal digits (eg FDDF5FF83).

9 characters of Bosch alphabet
The length of the code is 9 characters (eg BBSNBOCCU) (EURO5)

Siemens VDO / Continental common-rail diesel injectors

Siemens/VDO injector use only letters 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z.

Injector classification class
All injectors can be coded to one class at a time (4, 5, 6).

6 characters of ASCII uppercase alphabet
The length of the code is 6 characters (eg 9AEFBD)

7 characters of ASCII uppercase alphabet
The length of the code is 7 characters (eg 6TDCEGF)

9 characters of ASCII uppercase alphabet
The length of the code is 9 characters (eg 9GCD9CKG0)

Denso common-rail diesel injectors

Denso injectors use only hexadecimal encoding (0..9 and A..F)

All injector codes are checksum-protected against mistyping and our diagnostic applications validate injectors codes before coding it in the control unit.

12 hexadecimal value
The length of the code is 12 hexadecimal digits (eg ).

16 hexadecimal value
The length of the code is 16 hexadecimal digits (eg F0001300001000F3).

24 hexadecimal value
The length of the code is 24 hexadecimal digits (eg ).

30 hexadecimal value
The length of the code is 30 hexadecimal digits (eg ).

Delphi common-rail diesel injectors

Delphi injectors use hexadecimal encoding (0..9 and A..F) or numbers and letters 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, T, U, W, X, Y, Z (I, O, Q and V are excluded).

16 hexadecimal string - C2I code
The length of the code is 16 hexadecimal digits (eg 8C217BCC2CB10387).

20 numbers and letters - C3I code
The length of the code is 20 numbers and letters (eg J70XX082NDYZGS7W2515).
