What it does
- Programs new or existing remote keys to the vehicle
- Synchronizes the remote key with:
- BCM
- Immobilizer system (if integrated)
- Ensures correct lock/unlock and remote functions
When it is required
- After adding a new remote key
- After replacing or resetting the BCM
- After key memory loss or desynchronization
- When remote key functions do not operate
Conditions that must be met
- All remote keys to be programmed present
- Vehicle doors closed
- Ignition ON or in learning mode (as instructed)
- Stable battery voltage
- No active BCM or immobilizer fault codes
What happens during teaching
- BCM enters key learning mode
- Remote key IDs are stored
- System confirms successful programming
If teaching is not performed
- Remote key will not operate central locking
- Key synchronization issues may persist
- Convenience functions unavailable
After teaching
- Test all remote functions:
- Lock / unlock
- Trunk release
- Panic function (if equipped)
- Verify no BCM-related warnings
