Calibrate axial acceleration sensor
Calibrate lateral acceleration sensor
Calibrate pressure sensor
1) Calibrate Axial Acceleration Sensor
What it measures
- Longitudinal acceleration (forward/backward)
- Braking deceleration
- Traction control behavior
- Vehicle stability calculations
Used for
- ABS regulation
- Traction control during acceleration
- Brake force distribution
- Detection of engine braking
Purpose of calibration
* Establishes the correct zero (baseline) longitudinal acceleration when the vehicle is stationary.
When calibration is required
- Replacement of the control unit
- Replacement of the axial acceleration sensor
- Battery voltage interruptions
- Suspension modifications or geometry changes
- Sensor angle or reference may shift
If calibration is not performed
- Incorrect ABS/DSC intervention
- Inconsistent traction control behavior
- Possible DSC/ABS warning lights
2) Calibrate Lateral Acceleration Sensor
What it measures
- Lateral (side) forces while cornering
- Vehicle slip and stability behavior
Used for
- Detection of oversteer and understeer
- Selective brake intervention
- Stability control algorithms
Purpose of calibration
* Defines the zero lateral acceleration reference when the vehicle is on a level surface.
When calibration is required
- Replacement of the lateral acceleration sensor
- Replacement of the control unit
- Body or chassis repairs after impact
- Suspension changes
- Possible change of sensor orientation
If calibration is not performed
- Early or delayed DSC intervention
- False DSC activation
- Reduced stability in dynamic maneuvers
What it measures
- Hydraulic brake pressure inside the DSC unit
- Actual brake force applied by the driver
Used for
- ABS pressure modulation
- Traction control braking
- Emergency braking functions
- Brake force distribution
Purpose of calibration
* Sets the zero-pressure reference when no brake force is applied.
When calibration is required
- Replacement of the control unit
- Work on brake hydraulics
- Pressure sensor fault codes
- Incorrect or unstable pressure readings
If calibration is not performed
- Inaccurate ABS modulation
- Incorrect or delayed DSC intervention
- Warning lights and persistent error codes
