PDK Control Unit Reset

What it does

• Resets the PDK (dual-clutch) transmission control unit
• Clears adaptation and temporary fault data
• Reinitializes control algorithms for clutch and gear actuation

When it is required

• After software updates or coding
• After clutch or mechatronics replacement
• When fault codes are stored or shifting issues occur
• During diagnostic or troubleshooting procedures

Conditions that must be met

• Vehicle stationary
• Engine running at idle (if required)
• Transmission in neutral/P as specified
• Stable battery voltage
• Diagnostic tool connected

What happens during reset

• Adaptation and temporary values are cleared
• Transmission control unit restarts
• Control algorithms are reinitialized
• Fault codes may be cleared

If reset is not performed

• Previous adaptation values may cause incorrect clutch or shift behavior
• Fault codes or warning lights may remain
• Reduced shifting performance

After reset

• Perform PDK calibration or adaptation drive
• Verify gear engagement and clutch behavior
• Check live data for proper function
• Confirm no fault codes remain
