Porsche Lateral Acceleration Sensor Calibration
Supported coding features by PoCOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/pocom
Lateral Acceleration Sensor Calibration
What it does
- Calibrates the lateral (side) acceleration sensor
- Provides accurate data for cornering dynamics
- Supports PSM, ABS, and traction control systems
When it is required
- After lateral acceleration sensor replacement
- After ABS/PSM control unit replacement
- After chassis or suspension repairs
- When stability control warning lights are present
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary on level ground
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- Diagnostic tool connected
- No active critical ABS/PSM faults
What happens during calibration
- Sensor zero point is detected and stored
- Control unit updates lateral dynamics calculations
- Sensor plausibility is verified
If calibration is not performed
- Incorrect stability control intervention
- Fault codes or warning lights may remain
- Reduced handling and safety
After calibration
- Verify sensor values in live data
- Clear fault codes if present
- Perform short test drive
- Confirm correct PSM and ABS operation
