Lateral Acceleration Sensor Calibration

What it does

• Calibrates the lateral (side) acceleration sensor
• Provides accurate data for cornering dynamics
• Supports PSM, ABS, and traction control systems

When it is required

• After lateral acceleration sensor replacement
• After ABS/PSM control unit replacement
• After chassis or suspension repairs
• When stability control warning lights are present

Conditions that must be met

• Vehicle stationary on level ground
• Ignition ON
• Stable battery voltage
• Diagnostic tool connected
• No active critical ABS/PSM faults

What happens during calibration

• Sensor zero point is detected and stored
• Control unit updates lateral dynamics calculations
• Sensor plausibility is verified

If calibration is not performed

• Incorrect stability control intervention
• Fault codes or warning lights may remain
• Reduced handling and safety

After calibration

• Verify sensor values in live data
• Clear fault codes if present
• Perform short test drive
• Confirm correct PSM and ABS operation
