Peugeot Citroen Steering Angle Sensor Calibration
Supported coding features by PSACOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/psacom
Function is available in ABS/ESP or electric power steering (DAE) ECUs in coding menu.
Steering Angle Sensor Calibration
What it does
- Calibrates the steering angle sensor (SAS) for ABS/ESP systems
- Establishes correct zero position for steering wheel
- Ensures accurate vehicle stability, traction control, and safety functions
When it is required
- After replacing the steering angle sensor
- After alignment or suspension work affecting steering geometry
- After ABS/ESP control unit replacement
- When ESP warning light or fault codes are present
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary on level ground
- Steering wheel centered
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- Diagnostic tool connected
What happens during calibration
- Sensor zero position is detected and stored
- ECU adjusts steering-related algorithms for stability control
- Live data confirms correct sensor output for straight-ahead position
- ESP, ABS, and traction control systems are synchronized
If calibration is not performed
- ESP or traction control may intervene incorrectly
- Steering and stability functions may be impaired
- Fault codes or warning lights may remain active
- Reduced vehicle safety and performance
After calibration
- Verify steering angle sensor values in live data
- Test vehicle stability and ESP intervention at low speed
- Confirm no warning lights remain
- Check steering response and alignment
