Peugeot Citroen Initializing Fuel Level
Supported coding features by PSACOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/psacom
What it does
- Initializes and recalibrates the fuel level measurement system
- Synchronizes fuel level sensor(s) with the instrument cluster and ECU
- Restores accurate fuel gauge and range calculation
When it is required
- After replacing the fuel level sensor or fuel pump module
- After instrument cluster or BSI replacement
- After fuel tank repair or replacement
- When fuel gauge displays incorrect level or range
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary on level ground
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- Fuel level stable (no refueling during procedure)
- Diagnostic tool connected
What happens during initialization
- ECU reads current fuel level sensor values
- Reference values are stored in:
- BSI
- Instrument cluster
- Fuel gauge and remaining range are recalculated
If initialization is not performed
- Incorrect fuel level display
- Wrong remaining range estimation
- Possible warning messages
- Customer complaints about fuel gauge accuracy
After initialization
- Verify fuel level value in live data
- Check instrument cluster fuel gauge behavior
- Confirm no fuel-related warnings remain
