Engine Initialise Autoadaptives
What it does
- Resets and initializes engine self-adaptive parameters
- Clears learned corrections for fuel, air, and torque management
- Allows ECU to relearn optimal engine operation from baseline values
When it is required
- After engine repairs or component replacement
- After ECU replacement or software update
- After intake, fuel, or exhaust system work
- When engine behavior is irregular or unstable
Conditions that must be met
- Engine OFF or at idle (as instructed)
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- No active critical engine fault codes
- Diagnostic tool connected
What happens during initialization
- ECU clears stored adaptive values for:
- Fuel trim
- Airflow and load
- Idle and torque control
- Engine management returns to factory baseline
- System prepares for relearning during driving
If initialization is not performed
- Engine may run rough or inefficiently
- Poor throttle response
- Increased fuel consumption or emissions
- Fault codes may remain active
After initialization
- Start engine and allow idle stabilization
- Perform relearning drive cycle if required
- Monitor live data for normal adaptation
- Clear any remaining fault codes
