What it does
- Changes the operating mode of the Body System Interface (BSI)
- Adjusts vehicle behavior for different purposes
- Controls features like economy, showroom display, and customer demonstration
Includes
- Deactivation of economy mode
- Activation of showroom mode
- Activation of customer mode
When it is required
- Before vehicle delivery or display in showroom
- For customer demonstration purposes
- After BSI replacement or software update
- To temporarily override normal economy or comfort settings
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- Diagnostic tool connected and authorized
What happens during activation / deactivation
- BSI mode parameter is updated
- Vehicle systems respond according to selected mode:
- Economy mode deactivated: normal fuel/comfort settings
- Showroom mode activated: display-friendly settings
- Customer mode activated: demonstration-friendly settings
- Settings stored in the BSI
If procedure is not performed
- Vehicle may remain in default mode
- Features may not operate as intended for demonstration or showroom use
- Fuel economy or comfort settings may differ from desired mode
After procedure
- Verify BSI mode in diagnostics
- Test vehicle functions according to selected mode
- Confirm system retains mode after ignition off/on
