Mercedes Service Interval Reset

The service interval reset coding routine is available in instrument cluster (KI) ECU.
What it does
- Resets the service and maintenance interval counters in the ECU
- Clears oil change, inspection, and other service reminders
- Prepares system to track new maintenance schedule
When it is required
- After performing scheduled maintenance or oil change
- After replacing the control unit or cluster
- When service reminders or warning lights are active
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON
- Stable battery voltage
- No active critical fault codes
What happens during the procedure
- ECU clears stored service interval data
- Counters for:
- Oil change
- General inspection
- Special service intervals
* System begins tracking from zero
If reset is not performed
- Service reminder warnings may remain active
- Incorrect maintenance tracking
- Potential for missed scheduled maintenance
After reset
- Verify service interval counters in diagnostics
- Ensure warning lights are cleared
- Resume normal tracking of maintenance intervals
