Mercedes ABS Control Unit Calibration
Supported coding features by StarCOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/starcom
What it does
- Calibrates the ABS / ESP control unit
- Synchronizes internal sensors and reference values
- Ensures correct brake and stability system operation
When it is required
- After replacing the ABS / ESP control unit
- After replacing internal acceleration or pressure sensors
- After brake system repairs
- When ABS or ESP warning lights are active
Conditions that must be met
- Vehicle stationary on level ground
- Steering wheel centered
- No brake pedal pressed
- Ignition ON, engine OFF
- Stable battery voltage
- No active ABS or ESP fault codes
What happens during calibration
- Zero reference values are stored for:
- Longitudinal acceleration
- Lateral acceleration
- Yaw rate
- Brake pressure
- Control unit adapts its internal models
If calibration is not performed
- Incorrect ABS or ESP intervention
- Warning lights remain active
- Reduced braking and stability performance
After calibration
- Verify sensor values in live data
- Perform a short test drive
- Confirm ABS and ESP operate correctly
- Ensure no warning lights remain
