Hyundai/Kia TPMS Valves Coding
Supported coding features by HiCOM diagnostic tool https://www.obdtester.com/hicom
What it does
- Programs the IDs of tire pressure sensors (valves) to the TPMS control unit
- Ensures correct tire position recognition in the instrument cluster
- Allows proper tire pressure monitoring and warnings
When it is required
- After installing new TPMS sensors
- After tire or wheel replacement
- After rotating tires (if system requires re-learning)
- When TPMS warning light remains active
Conditions that must be met
- All tires inflated to specified pressure
- Vehicle stationary
- Ignition ON, engine OFF (unless instructed)
- Stable battery voltage
- No active TPMS fault codes
What happens during coding
- TPMS module enters learning mode
- Sensor IDs are learned in sequence:
- Front left
- Front right
- Rear right
- Rear left
- Each sensor position and ID is stored in memory
If coding is not performed
- TPMS warning light may remain on
- Incorrect tire position display
- Tire pressure warnings may be inaccurate
After coding
- Drive vehicle as instructed to finalize learning
- Verify TPMS status in the cluster
- Confirm no TPMS fault codes remain
