Throttle Valve / Body Replacement
What it does
- Resets ECU adaptation for the throttle valve
- Ensures proper throttle response and idle control
- Restores optimal air-fuel mixture and engine performance
When it is required
- After replacing the throttle body or actuator
- After cleaning the throttle body
- When throttle-related fault codes appear
- When engine idle or acceleration issues are present
Conditions that must be met
- Throttle body properly installed and connected
- Intake system sealed and leak-free
- No active throttle or engine fault codes
- Ignition ON, engine OFF (unless instructed)
- Stable battery voltage
What happens during the procedure
- ECU clears old throttle adaptations
- Throttle actuator moves through full range
- Minimum and maximum positions are learned
- Idle and airflow calibration is performed
If procedure is not performed
- Erratic or rough idle
- Poor throttle response
- Increased fuel consumption
- Throttle-related fault codes may remain
After replacement
- Verify throttle position in live data
- Perform a short test drive under light and medium load
- Confirm smooth engine response
- Ensure no throttle warning lights remain
