Airbag Lock / Unlock

What it does

• Locks or unlocks the airbag (SRS) system
• Prevents unintended airbag deployment during service work
• Restores normal airbag operation after maintenance

When it is required

• Before working on airbag or seat components
• During vehicle transport or storage
• After completing repairs on the SRS system
• When airbag system is intentionally disabled/enabled

Conditions that must be met

• Vehicle stationary
• Ignition OFF (or as instructed)
• Stable battery voltage
• Diagnostic tool connected and authorized

What happens during lock / unlock

• Airbag control unit changes operational state
• Deployment circuits are safely disabled or re-enabled
• System status is stored in ECU

If lock / unlock is not performed

• Risk of accidental airbag deployment during service
• Airbag warning light may remain active
• SRS system may not function as intended

After procedure

• Verify airbag system status in diagnostics
• Confirm airbag warning light behavior
• Clear any related fault codes
• Perform functional checks if required
